Formed:

We formed The Hypnotic Owls in Brisbane the summer of 2003.

Accomplished musicians we quickly set about writing the material that would see the band well regarded amongst the Brisbane live scene truly delivering some of the best live performances in its own right, blowing bands and fans away.

 

Appearing Live:

Taking a break after recording a demo to correctly organise the band’s live debut, they made their first live appearance at The Alley Bar in Milton on 12^th August 2004 with 20 new original songs to go with the 10 from the CD.  The Hypnotic Owls were now able to take on any type of gig both electric and unplugged, which was our goal.

 

Since debuting last August The Hypnotic Owls band has played over 60 gigs throughout Queensland and Western Australia, their demo “Enter The Nocturnal Zone” has been played a number of times on 4ZzZ 102.1fm and Diversa tea and talk has interviewed them and they have performed live on air acoustically our new single “Too Long”.  They have performed live and had a 2 hour radio segment with 101.5fm.  They have done a radio tag for Guitar Central which was being broadcast on Triple M commercial radio for the months and the professional work ethic and reliability of the band to arrive and perform at their best on time every time has seen great results last year and all are looking forward to more of the same in the future.  They have also been recorded live with great results that will serve as excellent pre production for our EP recording.

 

EP ‘Fundamentalist’:

At the end of 2004 we made a conscious decision to concentrate mostly on getting the EP right.  As such 16 new tracks were demo’d of which 5 tracks were selected to record.  The EP is a brand new release with roar excentric guitar and driving rhythm section that allows the vocals to deliver the sequence of events!

 

Future

The boys from the Owls as a unit breathe music….it is forever in their bones and they are carefully focussed on their musical genius constantly twisting an turning their music until it is in perfect form without the fake gimmicks.  The future of the band is such that it believes in live performances to truly get the message across but an upcoming film clip, air play and various promotional possibilities is keeping the boys busy on their toes constantly improving designing and itching for the stage.  It is truly an exciting time for this young band and spirits are high and anticipation for the EP release has been enormous from fans, critics, loved ones and the band itself.

 

The Chase

The Hypnotic Owls band is in search of management, promotion, record deals and further distribution to get the music to the number of people who deserve to hear it.
